HEARTWOOD CHAPTER

A quarter million (250,000) Mexican Free-tail bats live throughout the Waugh street bridge crevices and they emerge starting at dusk for many hours from bridge.

This bridge spans Buffalo Bayou between Allen Parkway and Memorial Drive less than a mile from downtown Houston, Texas in zip 77019.

PRESENTATIONS - 20 MINUTES BEFORE SUNSET - on the 1st & 3rd Friday nights
Information about the Waugh Street bats will be given by Texas Parks & Wildlife staff & volunteers (Houston Bat Project team members) when their personal schedule permits. Even if the volunteers cannot be there for a presentation, there is an information board for you to read.
